Your First In-Person Group
Showing up to your first process group will probably feel intimidating.
Feeling accepted inside and out happens over time, as we share space with each other.
Be thinking about why are interested in this group... talking about what brings you to this process group is a good way to begin sharing yourself. And, bringing your curiosity about other group members will help you learn how you can connect!
What research has shown is that most people who join a process group don't feel very comfortable with it for the first 4-10 sessions. It is usually only after developing relationships, getting to know others in the process group, and noticing what happens inside yourself as you participate consistently that the fruits of the process begin to emerge.
Hang in there along the way! Talk about any feelings of reluctance, ambivalence, or nervousness that you notice in your initial 12 weeks. That's what we are showing up to do.
Here are directions to the office, if needed.
See you Sunday afternoon!
