Will A.R.T. cure my Panic Disorder?

Sweaty palms.

Racing thoughts that the worst will happen.

Swirling sensations in your chest and belly.

Sometimes, even feeling like you may be on the verge of death...there isn't much worse than a panic attack. Especially when it comes out of the blue, or when you least expect it.

We identify someone as having Panic Disorder when their panic attacks are frequent and they are worried about when the next Panic Attack will come. When panic happens often enough that the space between your panic attacks includes worrying about your panic attacks, the distress has gotten to a whole other level.

The good news is, you don't have to live like that.

Like all psychological disorders, Panic Disorder is complicated to treat. It is likely that there are multiple specific things that contribute to your panic, from your hormones, neurotransmitters, how much and how deep your sleep is, to what difficult experiences you had growing up and how supported and cared for you felt as a child. Specific traumas can also contribute to someone having Panic Disorder. Even though it might sound weird (and scary) to have Panic Disorder, nearly 5% of all U.S. adults have it in their lifetime. (It's not THAT weird!)

The question is, can  Accelerated Resolution Therapy  cure Panic Disorder?

In my experience using A.R.T. with clients who experience regular, frequent panic attacks, overall anxiety and stress goes down after one session. As with any on-going, chronic problem, multiple sessions of Accelerated Resolution Therapy are prescribed because there are multiple triggers to the problem being treated.

Just as the poster child for Accelerated Resolution Therapy immediately had no more panic around dogs after only one session, if you are treating one trigger in your A.R.T. session, you will likely no longer have panic attacks surrounding that trigger after one session. Because frequent panic attacks occur due to more than one contributing factor, multiple sessions (2 per week for 2 weeks) will be offered in order to drastically reduce, and possibly eliminate your panic attacks all together.

Most people are skeptical of how a problem so distressing could be eliminated so quickly (I know I was before I was trained in A.R.T.!) Especially because many spend months or years working on finding relief.
